Assistive Technology
At the Hyland Center for Health & Technology, Assistive Technology is used to compensate for physical, cognitive, language and visual impairments, enabling patients to reconnect to their daily life. Specially trained occupational and speech therapists provide hands-on education and training to patients and their families or caregivers to identify the most enabling devices.

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy provides patients with therapeutic physical therapy elements that cannot be duplicated on land. Warm-water aquatic physical therapy helps with chronic pain, arthritis conditions, bariatric patients, spine and lower extremity injuries, and more. The water’s resistance helps address balance, strength and postural deficits.
Neurorehabilitation
Our Neurorehabilitation team offers a broad array of therapy, programs and technology to help patients regain as much function as possible. Led by our team of physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and therapists, Good Shepherd blends the appropriate therapy and leading-edge technology to meet the needs of every patient.
Occupational Therapy
Good Shepherd’s orthopedic and neurologic occupational therapists work together with your other health-care providers to help you regain function after injury, illness or surgery, including life after being discharged from the hospital or living with a chronic condition.
Pediatric Therapy

Good Shepherd Pediatrics is proud to be one of a handful of “Centers of Excellence” in the U.S. to pioneer Trexo Plus, a robotic gait training technology that encourages independence and physical activity.
The wearable device allows kids with lower-extremity weakness and/or spasticity to get on their feet and walk — maybe even for the first time.
The Spine & Joint Center
Located on the upper level of The Hyland Center for Health & Technology in Allentown, our physicians at The Spine & Joint Center treat a variety of common neck, back, joint and other musculoskeletal pain disorders, including work-related, recreational and sports injuries.
We use an interdisciplinary approach to help patients reduce their pain and improve their daily function. Our highly trained physicians and therapists carefully coordinate a personalized rehabilitation program that meets each patient’s unique needs.
