Rehabilitative and assistive technology refers to tools, equipment, or products that can help people with disabilities successfully complete activities at school, home, work, and in the community. At the Harry C. Trexler Center for Assistive Technology Robert & Marian Edwards Center, Assistive Technology is used to compensate for physical, cognitive, language and visual impairments, enabling patients to reconnect to their daily life. Specially trained occupational and speech therapists provide hands-on education and training to patients and their families or caregivers to identify the most enabling devices.
