Why Choose Us
Learn more about Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, a destination for recovery for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex medical rehabilitation.
While spending the winter in Florida, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-resident Al Kobusky suffered two spinal strokes.
Hundreds of miles from home and needing to relearn how to walk, Kobusky started thinking about his outpatient rehabilitation needs.
“In Florida, for people down there to tell me, ‘You’re from where? Well, Good Shepherd is the place for you’ — that’s how I first found out about Good Shepherd,” Kobusky said.
Every week, Kobusky traveled one hour from Wilkes-Barre to Good Shepherd’s Hyland Center in Allentown for intensive physical therapy and occupational therapy sessions throughout the week.
Slowly but surely, Kobusky stuck with the intensive program and continued making progress toward his goals.
