Why Choose Us
Learn more about Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, a destination for recovery for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex medical rehabilitation.
Angel Saez focuses on the positive — that’s his outlook on life, especially after losing all four limbs following a severe illness.
After many rounds of tests, the Schuylkill County resident had toxic shock syndrome due to strep throat and pneumonia. Angel’s organs shut down and due to the lack of blood flow, he had emergency amputation surgery on all four extremities while in a coma.
Angel and his family chose Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital to start his rehabilitation journey. The goal: To go home safely and as independently as possible with his wife and two children.
“[Good Shepherd] helped me a lot, even mentally, to be able to prepare myself for the future to keep moving forward,” Angel said when asked to describe his outlook on life. “To always have something to look forward to and never accept a ‘No’ in life.”
