Finding support with Parkinson’s through community and boxing

After their Parkinson’s diagnoses, Patty Wargo and Sue Becker both sought the same thing: support.

They found that support — and a fun, active group, too — at Rock Steady Boxing classes at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation -Hyland Center.

“It gives you the confidence and the motivation to do the best you can every day and to keep working and not let this overtake your life and to fight against it as much as you can,” Sue said.

Added Patty: “And looking at things you can live well with, listening to the birds sing in the morning, going to exercise class and feeling better coming out than you did going in.”
