How robotic gait training technology helps Robin walk

For a little boy like Robin Houck, who has been in physical therapy since he was born paralyzed unexpectedly, working in the Trexo robotic gait trainer offers a new challenge.

Building strength, getting steps in and having fun all while doing it — it’s all part of Robin’s journey, as told by his mom, Kim Houck.

Good Shepherd provides three sizes of the robotic equipment, which allows children with lower-extremity weakness and/or spasticity to get on their feet and walk — maybe even for the first time. This gait training technology is offered to patients in both inpatient pediatric and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation settings to encourage independence and physical activity.
