Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital is among the “Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers” in America for the second year in a row, according to Newsweek.

In the 2021 list, Good Shepherd ranks fifth overall in the entire state of Pennsylvania and is the top provider in the Lehigh Valley.

“America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2021 highlights the nation’s top inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) based on the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care and accommodation and amenities,” according to Newsweek.

This year is a repeat of 2020, when Good Shepherd also ranked first overall in the Lehigh Valley and fifth in the state.

“We’re incredibly honored to once again be recognized as the top physical rehabilitation center in the Lehigh Valley and top-five in all of Pennsylvania,” says Frank Hyland, MSPT, executive director of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network and administrator of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital. “It’s a validation of our teams’ tireless efforts to provide expert care, deliver innovative solutions and utilize leading-edge rehabilitation technology to help our patients reach their goals and achieve their dreams following stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputation and other complex medical conditions.”

The Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, located at 850 S. 5th Street in Allentown, focuses solely on rehabilitation. Our team includes highly skilled physicians, nurses and therapists who specialize in rehabilitation care, as well as psychologists and other specialists within Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network as needed.

Facilities ranked on Newsweek‘s list are certified Medicare and/or Medicaid IRFs. In addition to an expanded methodology for this year’s rankings, Newsweek and market research firm Statista Inc. included CARF accreditations and model systems as measures.
