Located in South Allentown on Good Shepherd's flagship campus, Hyland Center for Health & Technology is one of the greater Lehigh Valley’s premier outpatient sites, offering a fusion of comprehensive rehabilitation services and today’s newest technologies.

Patients and families access multiple services, including physicians, neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation for adults and children, technology and more, all under one roof.

Appointments are available within 24-48 hours.

Depending on your needs, a prescription is not required for your first appointment; ask us for details.

Services Offered

Primary Rehabilitation Services in South Allentown

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation’s three-story Hyland Center offers a number of personalized adult and pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services, as well as physicians and technology, tailored to meet your specific needs.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists help you regain your mobility, strength, balance and endurance as a result of illness, injury or condition.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy team works with you to regain or enhance activities of daily living (also known as ADLs), such as eating, personal hygiene and dressing.

Speech Therapy

We treat patients who experience difficulties with speech, communication, cognition, voice or swallowing as a result of illness, injury or condition.

Pediatric Therapies

Hyland Center offers pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to help children with developmental and/or physical disabilities or kids recovering from illnesses or injuries. Hyland Center specializes in treating autism.

Physician Services – Spine & Joint Center

Located on the Upper Level of Hyland Center, our physical medicine & rehabilitation physicians (also known as physiatrists) at the Spine & Joint Center treat a variety of common neck, back, joint and other musculoskeletal pain disorders, including work-related, recreational and sports injuries.

We use an interdisciplinary approach to help patients reduce their pain and improve their daily function. Our highly trained physicians and therapists carefully coordinate a personalized rehabilitation program that meets each patient’s unique needs.

Adaptive Fitness for All

Hyland Center also is home to Optimal Fitness, a members-only adaptive fitness center that supports the fitness and training goals of all people, including community members with disabilities such as spinal cord injury. Located on the Lower Level, Optimal Fitness draws members from around the region to utilize the special equipment and expert exercise physiologist on staff.
