If you are an adult with a disability who strives to live independently, Good Shepherd’s Supported Independent Living (SuppIL) apartments may be right for you.

SuppIL's apartments are designed specifically for low-income people with physical mobility impairment (i.e., spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease) or traumatic brain injury. Applicants must meet the federal HUD income eligibility criteria in order to be considered for admission.

Amenities

SuppIL’s 18 housing units are equipped with technology and accessibility offerings to help you live independently and safely, without needing 24-hour nursing home care. Amenities include:

  • One- and two-bedroom options
  • Spacious, accessible kitchens and bathrooms
  • Card-access security system
  • In-room laundry
  • Close to schools, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, churches, hospitals, medical facilities, public transportation, banks and parks
  • Convenient location in South Allentown on the campus of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation for nearby access to physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) doctors at Hyland Center and wheelchair clinic at Edwards Center
  • Multipurpose meeting room for events, movie nights and other activities
  • Resident-run activities committee
  • Covered patio near Good Shepherd’s beautiful Healing Gardens
