Externships

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation offers unpaid, one-week Winter externships to current college students who are interested in gaining insight into non-clinical career paths in a health care setting.

NOTE: If you’re interested in nursing externship opportunities, see our Nurse Extern Program.

The externship program is designed for sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in an undergraduate program. While any major may apply, this program is particularly geared toward those who are studying health care administration, business and other related majors.

2026 Externships

The externship is 24 hours total over the course of one week. For 2026, Good Shepherd offers two one-week session options:

• First option: Jan. 5-9, 2026
• Second option: Jan. 12-16, 2026

Internship Opportunities

Students who complete the week-long externship at Good Shepherd are encouraged to apply for a paid, three-month summer internship in the department of most interest to them.
