Learn more about Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, a destination for recovery for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex medical rehabilitation.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Hadley is a determined little superstar with Costello Syndrome, who’s never shy about sharing her thoughts or fashion opinions.
Hadley may face motor delays, muscle tightness and posture challenges, but that hasn’t stopped her from chasing her goals.
Recently, Hadley wrapped Week 6 of serial casting (a non-invasive way to stretch tight muscles) and has already gained a whopping 44 degrees of knee extension — a huge achievement.
Her favorite part? Picking a new color wrap each week and making sure her Good Shepherd pediatric physical therapists at Hyland Center in South Allentown wear gloves while working with the casting material.
Hadley runs the show.
Serial casting sounds intense, but for Hadley, she has tolerated the process well, and it’s all part of the fun on her journey to walking more confidently in her gait trainer and achieving her standing play goals.
