Learn more about Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, a destination for recovery for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex medical rehabilitation.
Lehigh Valley Public Media/PBS39 recently featured Good Shepherd Rehabilitation’s under-construction Autism and Neurodevelopmental Wellness Center in the October edition of Living in the Lehigh Valley.
Reporter and host Brittany Sweeney spoke with Nicole Dupree of Allentown about how the Center, which is slated to open in Fall 2026, will support families like hers.
“Having a center that can do all of the different therapies in one area, have people to help you manage and figure out scheduling and what you need and help combine services, as well as having that really unique social aspect that is needed, I think that is going to be so instrumental not only for my kids, but everyone,” Dupree said.
PBS39 also visited the Center to capture in-progress footage of the construction project and spoke with Good Shepherd Vice President of Outpatient Operations Karen Long, PTA, MBA, about how the Center will support individuals of all ages who identify as neurodivergent.
“They want someone that is going to meet them where they are on their journey,” Long said. “Some want straight therapy and that is completely fine. Others want connections to others with similar diagnosis.”
The 5,400-square-foot center, which is the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley region, will provide services and support for neurodivergent individuals of all ages, as well as support for parents, siblings and caregivers.
It will be located at 250 Cetronia Road, Suite 110, in Allentown, Upper Macungie Township.
