Cognitive Communication Skills

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation hosts a group for adults with cognitive communication disorders to maintain and improve your communication skills with others.

The only one of its kind in the Lehigh Valley, the group is led by a licensed speech-language pathologist and is ideal for aphasia, dysarthia, apraxia of speech and cognitive communication disorders.

The group meets weekly in six-week cycles. Cycles are held in the winter, spring and fall.

Activities include:

    • Speaking clearly and with less hesitation

    • Participating in social conversations (i.e., asking and responding to questions)

    • Topic maintenance and reducing rambling

    • Using strategies to improve overall communication

Group Details

    • Location: Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hyland Center, 850 S. 5th St., Allentown, PA 18103 (Middle Level Conference Room)

    • Time: 3-4 p.m.

    • Cost: $75 per cycle (the group is not covered by insurance)
