The Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem has been named a Best Nursing Home in U.S. News & World Report’s 2020-2021 rankings.

Using publicly available federal data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Nursing Home Compare website, U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing care facilities nationwide. Of the 13,443 nursing facilities receiving a Long-Term Care rating, only 1,139 nationwide (or 15 percent) ranked as High-Performing — including Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem.

“We are proud of all our staff members for their work and dedication and sincerely congratulate them for ensuring Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem delivers a high standard of compassionate and quality care to our residents,” said Carrie Kane, MS, CCC-SLP/L, NHA, administrator of Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem.

The 60-bed facility located at 2855 Schoenersville Road, is part of Allentown-based Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, which has provided long-term care for people with severe neurological and physical disabilities since its founding in 1908.

Unlike traditional nursing homes, Good Shepherd’s long-term care facilities are home to residents with severe disabilities, such as multiple sclerosis, brain injuries, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries and muscular dystrophy and who require 24/7 nursing care.
