Astrid González Parrilla, OTD, MBA, FACHE, senior vice president of clinical operations at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
With an understanding of ACHE’s policies, programs and services, the Council harnesses its collective skill and will to advance ACHE’s vision, mission and values. The Council of Regents provides advice and counsel to the Board of Governors and has the important responsibility of electing the Board of Governors and its Chair. It is through the Council’s support that the Board of Governors is able to steer the national organization and carry out ACHE’s mission to advance our members and healthcare leadership excellence.
González Parrilla takes office on March 18, 2023, prior to the Congress on Healthcare Leadership. As a Regent-at-Large, González Parrilla will represent ACHE’s membership in District 1.
González Parrilla oversees Good Shepherd’s adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, long-term acute care, long-term care, behavioral medicine and admissions. A native of Puerto Rico, González Parrilla came to Good Shepherd and the Lehigh Valley from Brooks Rehabilitation in Florida, where she served as Vice President of Operations for the Brooks – Halifax Health partnership.
González Parrilla is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, with a degree in occupational therapy. She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia Southern University and a post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Care Professions in 2014.
