Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network President & CEO Michael Spigel, PT, MHA, recently sat down with Lehigh Valley Business for a wide-ranging Q&A about his first several months on the job.
Spigel discussed Good Shepherd’s plans for a new Rehabilitation Hospital in 2023, the future of rehabilitation care and technology, telehealth, leadership, settling into the Lehigh Valley and more.
“We work in health care. We serve people. Period. End of story. Health care is serving people through people,” Spigel said. “You have to create an environment where the people who are doing the work feel recognized and appreciated. Attention has to be on our front line associates.”
Spigel also detailed his vision for Good Shepherd’s future in post-acute rehabilitation: “We want to be a thought leader in rehab, a leader in the mega trends in technology.”
