Join us May 9 for Hacking Your Phone to Enhance Accessibility: Low Vision Smartphone Features, a free community presentation hosted by Good Shepherd Rehabilitation.

Smartphone technology and its recent development has significantly impacted our daily interactions with the world. For those with visual impairments, these devices can initially seem more challenging than helpful. Devin Darby, MS, OTR/L, a Good Shepherd occupational therapist and low vision expert, will explore the accessibility features rooted within smartphones designed specifically to empower users with low vision.

By incorporating innovative technologies, such as screen magnification, haptic feedback and customizable display settings, smartphones have become influential tools for improving independence for individuals with visual impairments. This presentation aims to increase knowledge regarding the potential of smartphone accessibility features to improve the lives of individuals with low vision.

This event is in-person only and is open to the general public. Lunch is provided. Space is limited.

Pre-registration is required by May 6.
