What Is Pelvic Floor Therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a noninvasive treatment approach that uses the principles of physical therapy to provide a structured, effective and safe reconditioning of pelvic floor muscles. The goal of the treatment is to restore function of pelvic floor muscles and alleviate pain, weakness and dysfunction in the muscles.

Good Shepherd’s team of experts, with specialized training, will pinpoint the cause of pain and will recommend a personalized treatment approach. This treatment may include techniques to decrease discomfort, strengthen pelvic muscles, provide flexibility training to pelvic floor and hip muscles and address concerns related to issues of intimacy.
