Introducing Pediatric Therapy Walk-In Hours – Convenience When it Matters Most

December 20, 2019

Parenting is full of challenges. There are good days, when everyone gets off to school and work on time – and there are not-so-good days, when morning tantrums and backseat brawls cause moms and dads to shift gears and change priorities. For parents of children with special needs, hurdles like sensory overload, a clogged feeding tube, or a seizure can completely derail the day’s agenda. Parents face many challenges, but making it to their child’s outpatient therapy appointment should not be one of them.

Good Shepherd understands the challenges of parenthood. For this reason, we are delighted to announce convenient “Walk-in Hours” for outpatient pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy at our Health and Technology Center in South Allentown. Our expert clinicians are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for walk-in therapy evaluations and individual treatment sessions.

For children who are in need of an initial therapy evaluation, a physician prescription is required. Your child’s pediatrician, or a specialist, can write a prescription for your child’s outpatient therapy. For children who are already receiving therapy at Good Shepherd and miss their scheduled weekly appointment, weekday walk-in hours are available as well.

Convenience is the key to overcoming the challenges of parenthood. Just imagine, if you have already taken the day off from work for your child’s well visit and the doctor recommends a therapy evaluation, you can do both on the same day. That same flexibility is available from Good Shepherd if you encounter a hiccup in your schedule and your child misses his or her scheduled therapy appointment. The convenience of walk-in hours can turn a not-so-good day into a great day.
