Good Shepherd’s Hand Rehabilitation therapists utilize state-of-the-art rehabilitation techniques and technology to reduce pain and restore hand and upper extremity function following an injury, surgery or illness.  Our hand therapists also work closely with Good Shepherd Pediatric and long-term care clinicians to assist with congenital concerns as well.

Our therapy staff includes a Certified Hand Therapist and several highly trained clinical specialists who enable us to provide hand therapy services across a wide range of geographic locations, throughout Eastern Pennsylvania.  We complete a thorough, customized evaluation and design an individualized, comprehensive treatment program based on each patient’s unique needs.  All hands are inherently complex in nature and individualized, one-to-one, hands-on care is essential for optimal recovery outcomes.

What is Hand Therapy?

Hand therapy is highly specialized rehabilitation of the hand and fingers, wrist and elbow. There are even some conditions of the shoulder, cervical/neck region, as well as neurological conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke, that can benefit from Good Shepherd’s hand therapy specialists.

Hand therapists provide therapeutic intervention to prevent dysfunction and restore function of the upper limb in order to enhance an individual’s ability to participate fully in their particular life situations.
