Care for the Caregiver: Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Creates Support Group for Caregivers

February 21, 2018

Allentown, PA – Knowing the challenges faced by many caregivers, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation announces the creation of a support group to provide these individuals with needed encouragement. The first meeting will be held on Monday, March 12 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd’s Health & Technology Center, Middle Level Conference Room, 850 South 5th Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Anyone who serves in a caregiver role for a child or adult living with any any medical condition is welcome to join the group. Meetings will allow opportunities for attendees to share challenges and provide mutual support.

The group will be run by Mary Brownsberger, PsyD, ABPP. Dr. Brownsberger is a rehabilitation psychologist who serves as director of Psychology at Good Shepherd.

“We are forming this group to provide some much-needed relief and support for individuals who care for others,” says Dr. Brownsberger.

A more permanent schedule will be established based on input gathered during the first meeting.
