June 09, 2017

Allentown, PA – Bethlehem Rehabilitation Specialists (BRS), located at 41 East Elizabeth Avenue, Bethlehem, has officially joined Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital (GSRH), headquartered in Allentown. The acquisition became official on June 13 following a successful Department of Health survey.

BRS, A Service of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, has been in operation since 1984 and provides physical therapy for adults to treat a wide variety of conditions and injuries. BRS will continue to be managed by its former owner, Harold Millman, DPT, OCS, STAR/C. The staff, services and facility will remain the same. In addition to providing individualized therapy for musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain, sprains, strains, fractures, joint replacements, sports injuries and arthritic conditions, BRS also specializes in cancer rehabilitation.

“Joining an organization with a reputation like Good Shepherd’s is an honor,” said Millman. “Our goal at BRS has always been to provide our patients with the time and support they need to achieve maximum recovery. Good Shepherd is all about rehabilitation. Most of the people I have worked with at Good Shepherd have a clinical background, starting with the CEO, who is a physical therapist. They have patients and outcomes in their hearts.”

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital provides outpatient rehabilitation services at more than 20 locations in the greater Lehigh Valley. The GSRN continuum of care, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care and long-term acute care, spans nine eastern Pennsylvania counties. GSRN is the eighth largest rehabilitation provider in the country, according to Modern Healthcare magazine.

“We are pleased to welcome Bethlehem Rehabilitation Specialists to the Good Shepherd family of providers,” says John Kristel, MBA, MPT, president & CEO, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. “Bethlehem has been fortunate to have a compassionate provider like BRS for these many years, and we look forward to jointly continuing their active presence in the community.”
