Pediatric Caregiver Information Sessions
Series: Supporting the Caregiver
Topic: When Caring For Others Is Too Much: Ways to get through the tough times without burning out
Guest Speaker: Mary G. Brownsberger, Psy.D., ABPP, Director of Psychology, Board Certified in Rehabilitation Psychology
Caring for our loved ones is a gift most of us freely give. However, caring for others often leaves us at greater risk for stress, anxiety, depression, physical illness, fatigue and burnout. We find it difficult, if not impossible, to find time to take care of ourselves. This session will explore the components of burnout and compassion fatigue and discuss ways to increase our ability to take care of ourselves, even in very brief moments.
