Ryan Sander, PT, DPT
Where do you work?
Good Shepherd’s Health & Technology Center
In what areas of rehabilitation do you specialize?
I am a physical therapist, specializing in outpatient orthopedics.
Name your goals:
A short-term goal is to complete an orthopedic residency, and a long-term goal is to obtain an OCS (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) certification.
What specialty certifications do you hold?
Strategic Orthopedics Approach
What rehabilitation technologies do you utilize in your work?
I use a special machine called the Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill. This unique piece of equipment permits users to exercise at a reduced body weight, allowing for the safe increase of cardiovascular activity without additional wear and tear on the body.
What attracted you to a career in healthcare?
I am motivated by new challenges, as well as the desire to provide the best possible care. I completed a lot of physical therapy, due to a congenital condition that I had, when I was young. I have experienced, first-hand, what can be accomplished through physical therapy. With that, I took my desire to a new level, where I am now able to share that experience with others.
Why do you choose to work at Good Shepherd?
I believe Good Shepherd puts the patient first. We work hard as a team to provide the best quality of care for all who need our services.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of Good Shepherd?
I love any outdoor activity. I enjoy bike riding, kayaking, reading, visiting the beach and watching NFL football. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends and yellow lab, Pongo.
What does “Beyond Limits Rehab” mean to you?
To me, it means providing a level of care that is so genuine and unique, you won’t find it anywhere else.
Why should patients INSIST on Good Shepherd?
Good Shepherd has the most skilled and dedicated providers, who are truly passionate about what they do. We will always go above and beyond to help individuals achieve their goals.
