What’s Your Philosophy for Treating Patients?
To empower my patients to lead the healthiest lives that they can.
Why Did You Become a Physiatrist?
Rehabilitation medicine is a field of medicine that takes a person’s individuality into account when coming up with a treatment plan. We don’t just look at lab results and radiologic studies and prescribe procedures, medications or surgeries. We actually look at the patients in the context of their own life and their own goals, and we help them achieve their best quality of life possible.
What’s the Most Rewarding Part of Caring for Patients?
Watching a patient emerge from a minimally conscious state to taking their first step, saying their first word or taking their first bite of real food and then guiding them through the rehabilitation process as they go home and reengage in their family life.
