Spring Cleaning Safety Tips

After a long, cold winter, Spring is a welcome change. The season brings open windows, fresh air, blooming buds and – for many – Spring cleaning. The deep cleaning ritual typically involves scrubbing floors and windows, washing and replacing heavy linens and window coverings and returning to long neglected yard work.

Child Passenger Safety Week is September 18 – 24, 2011. This year’s theme is “Back to 2!” It was chosen to reinforce the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recent recommendation to keep toddlers in rear-facing seats until the age of 2 (or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their car seat).

In fact, a recent  study found that the average backpack weighs about 14 pounds, or 15 percent of a middle school student's body weight.
