Assistive and Rehabilitation Technology/Research
Assistive technology is the gateway to helping people with disabilities achieve greater independence in exciting ways once only dreamed of. As a Center of Excellence in this field, we need to continually invest in this area to keep pace with new technologies that enhance communication, work, play, and daily life.
Assistive technology changes lives by helping people do everyday tasks most of us take for granted, like turning on a computer, a radio, or the television; communicate when their own voices have failed; or enjoy greater mobility as never before, such as with stair-climbing wheelchairs.
Rehabilitation technology helps improve treatment and recovery.
Your contributions to this program are essential to help us retain our position as a national leader in assistive technology. You can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities by supporting this program.
