Trexler Trust Gift Benefits Children
The Harry C. Trexler Trust recently contributed $25,000 to Good Shepherd’s Children with Disabilities Program. In 2010, this regionally unique outpatient program served more than 3,000 children ages 1 to 18. It is the only source of medical, developmental rehabilitation for children in the Lehigh Valley with a growing demand.
Drs. Karen Senft and Nandini Iyengar are the only board-certified developmental pediatricians in the Lehigh Valley with expertise in diagnosing and treating development deficits including autism, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other physical, cognitive and neurological impairments.
“We are deeply grateful for this gift,” says David F. Lyons, vice president for development. “Good Shepherd never turns a child away, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. You can imagine the relief parents have when they entrust their child to us. Caring for children with disabilities is not only our founding mission, but our duty to our community.”
The Trexler Trust grants funds to organizations domiciled in Lehigh County and that benefit the citizens of Lehigh County.
