Teeing Off For a Good Cause

April 2012

The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund is holding a series of golf outings to help purchase gas gift cards from Giant Foods for families who need help covering transportation costs to get their children to therapy at Good Shepherd's outpatient pediatric program in south Allentown.

Eight outings are scheduled for this year at golf courses throughout the Lehigh Valley. The first such outing was held in October 2011 at Pleasant Hills Golf Course and with the help of Giant Foods provided over 10,000 miles of driving to families at Good Shepherd.

Krysta, daughter of Bill and Chris Hankee, collapsed while exercising in a gym in New York City in September of 2007, at the age of 22, and died a few days later.  She loved her friends, family and community.  She graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in 2003 where she excelled as a student and athlete.

The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund is a 501 (c) (3) Public Charity that provides grants to graduating high school seniors planning to further their education.
