Board Member Honored
Good Shepherd Board of Trustees member Dan Wilson, PhD, was honored at the annual Pennsylvanians with Disabilities Day luncheon held on April 20 at Green Pond Country Club. Dan was recognized for his dedication to promoting disability awareness. A professor of historyat Muhlenberg College, he is noted for many publications on the history of medicine and disability, including three books on polio. He has served two terms as president of the Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living, is on the national board of Post-Polio International and is a founding member of the Disability History Association.
Pennsylvanians with Disabilities Day was designated in 1998 by then Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey in honor of President Frankliin Delano Roosevelt, one of America's most distinguished individuals with a physical disability.
