James L. Czekner

James L. Czekner, 56, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday, September 22. Jim was the lead mechanic at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital where he worked for 17 years, endearing himself to all with his ready smiile, generous spirit, and dedication to his job. He also played on Good Shepherd's Friday night bowling league.

A graduate of Dieruff High School and a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Army, Jim was an avid trout fisherman who spent many afternoons at his favorite spot in the Lehigh Parkway. He gave of himself in many ways as a husband, father, grandfather and community volunteer, coaching CYO girls volleyball and basketball, and softball at ESYC.

Jim was a member of Our Lady Help of Christian's Catholic Church in Allentown. He will be deeply missed by his Good Shepherd family as well as his beloved family and wife Elizabeth with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage on April 1.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the church on Wednesday, September 28, at 11 a.m. Calling will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Avenue, Allentown.
