Good Shepherd's Speech and Language Therapy Program is designed to meet the diagnostic and therapeutic needs of any inpatient or outpatient experiencing communication disorders. Services are provided by Master’s level speech/language pathologists, each of whom is licensed and certified. Services are structured to meet the individual needs of each patient, and speech/language pathologists work closely with patients, families, and rehab team members to achieve maximum results.
Speech and language therapy can be utilized in conjunction with Good Shepherd's physical therapy and occupational therapy programs to provide a multi-disciplinary approach for patients who require a combination of rehabilitative services. Appropriate referral diagnoses include neurorehabilitation (spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke) and neuromuscular disorders (muscular dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Parkinson’s disease).
