| Accent Reduction | Communication Skills Group |

Designed for individuals who have an adequate command of the English language but have a foreign accent that hinders their social and/or business conversations, Good Shepherd's Accent Reduction Program includes speech assessment and training, systematic instruction, and the use of audiovisual materials. Communication problems which may addressed include faulty word formation through stress, intonation, or rhythm; inappropriate choice of words; inadequate projection of voice; and distorted sounds while speaking. This program is invaluable to anyone who depends on their speaking ability to successfully perform their job.

Program Structure
Through careful accent assessment, specific patterns of speech are identified and an accent reduction program is developed which enables the client to speak more clearly and more easily be understood. Instruction is also available on the mastery of non-regional American speech for speakers with various dialects.

Each speaker's degree of fluency will play a role in determining the number of training session necessary to achieve individual goals. The average number of treatment sessions is between 16 and 24 one-hour sessions.

For more information on the Good Shepherd Accent Reduction Program, contact us today or call 1-888-44-REHAB (24 hours a day, 365 days a year).
