Soofia Khan, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.P.M.R., Joins Physician Group at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network

Dr. Soofia KhanGood Shepherd Rehabilitation Network has welcomed Soofia Khan, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.P.M.R., to its Physician Group. Dr. Khan specializes in spinal cord injuries and stroke care and will serve as Good Shepherd’s medical director of neurosciences. Dr. Khan is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

 Dr. Khan comes to Good Shepherd with years of experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as spinal cord injury medicine. Most recently, Dr. Khan was a staff physiatrist and acting chief of stroke and rehabilitation services at the VA Medical Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was also assistant professor and attending physician with the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, as well as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurology and Geriatric Medicine.

Dr. Khan completed her fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Jackson Memorial Medical Center and VA Miami at the University of Miami, Florida. She completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New England Medical Center, Boston, where she served as chief resident, as well as a residency in general surgery at Gandhi Medical College Hospital, Bhopal, India. She performed her internship at the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York.

Dr. Khan is the author of “Hypothermia in Patients with Chronic Spinal Cord Injury,” published in The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine.
