Conditions Treated
At Good Shepherd, we specialize in the treatment of a variety of medical conditions. Because we offer such a diverse care system, Good Shepherd can provide our patients with precisely the rehabilitation their situation requires. With facilities serving five counties and hundreds of healthcare professionals trained to meet our patients’ needs, Good Shepherd offers one of America’s highest levels of specialized care.

Rehabilitation Services
At Good Shepherd, our goal is to help you return to a maximum level of independence. This is a goal we achieve by offering a comprehensive program of world-class rehabilitation services including inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care, long-term acute care, and supported independent living. Good Shepherd also provides a full array of clinics and community services and work services.

Inpatient Programs
Good Shepherd's inpatient rehabilitation programs are part of a nationally accredited rehabilitation network made possible by the country's most advanced clinical and technical resources. Staffed by caring, experienced rehabilitation specialists, Good Shepherd's inpatient network has earned a national reputation for excellence, enabling us to return each of our patients to the highest possible level of functional independence.

Outpatient Programs
Designed to complement our inpatient programs or serve as a resource for patients with conditions that do not require overnight care, Good Shepherd's outpatient rehabilitation programs offer a wide range of rehabilitative services based on an interdisciplinary approach to medicine. Outpatient treatment plans are structured around each patient's needs and lifestyle.

Clinics & Community Services
Care at Good Shepherd does not end with inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation therapy. Outside of our rehabilitation programs, Good Shepherd also offers a number of clinics and community services, including specialized support programs, driver training, our Fall Prevention Program, and the Good Shepherd Healthy Back School.

Work Services
If you’re looking for a job that matches your unique skills and abilities—or are looking for qualified, motivated job candidates for your business—Good Shepherd can help. A comprehensive program designed to help individuals with disabilities find appropriate employment and also provide area businesses with affordable production assistance, Good Shepherd Work Services is an invaluable part of the Lehigh Valley community.

Long-Term Care
Since 1908, Good Shepherd has been providing long-term care for people with severe disabilities. Today, between our Good Shepherd Home—Allentown at the Conrad W. Raker Center and Good Shepherd Home—Bethlehem, Good Shepherd offers our community two state-of-the-art long-term care facilities with over 150 beds between them.

Long-Term Acute Care
Medically stable but fragile patients often require long-term acute care. Patients needing this level of care may be too ill for discharge to a nursing facility, an acute care rehabilitation hospital, or their homes. For such patients, the Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital provides outstanding long-term acute care tailored to their complex medical needs.

Independent Living
A technologically advanced apartment complex with 18 housing units, Good Shepherd’s Supported Independent Living facility is a technology-enhanced building which provides a cost-effective living alternative for those who would otherwise have no choice but to live in a nursing home. This state-of-the-art facility allows people with disabilities to live a dignified, independent lifestyle in a home they can call their own.
