David R. Strobel, M.Div., Elected to Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Board of Trustees5/26/2010
ALLENTOWN, PA – The Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) recently elected David R. Strobel, M.Div., of Bowers to a three-year term on the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Board of Trustees . Good Shepherd is affiliated with the ELCA, and the Synod elects two-thirds of the trustees to the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network Board.
Rev. Strobel, who served as the Bishop of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA from 1996 to 2008, is currently Bishop Emeritus of the Synod. Prior to his time as Bishop, Rev. Stobel served as Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Allentown, and Zion Lutheran Church, Maxatawny.
Rev. Strobel earned his bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, and his master’s of divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia. He sits on the board of directors of the Berks County Classical Children’s Chorus and has been named an Alumnus of Distinction by Wilson High School, West Lawn, Pennsylvania.
