Five Girl Scouts, representing Troop 1730, based in Bally, visited patients at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Unit  on Monday, June 9, to deliver 50 homemade pillowcases.
The Girl Scouts made the pillowcases for the One Million Pillowcase Challenge – an initiative through the magazine American Patchwork & Quilting to make one million pillowcases to be donated to children’s hospitals.
Each of the girls spent 20 hours or more towards the project in order to earn their Bronze Award, which is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve.
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Unit, located at 2855 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem, offers inpatient rehabilitation and specialized care for children with acute and chronic pulmonary disorders, conditions of prematurity, amputation, brain injury, burns, complex wounds, feeding/swallowing disorders, multi-trauma injuries, cancer, spinal cord injury and stroke.
