At Good Shepherd, we know that each individual with muscular dystrophy has unique abilities and medical needs. Here, we work with you to develop goals and the appropriate treatment plan to help you reach them.
Good Shepherd’s care team includes physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation and neurology, as well as physical, speech, occupational and respiratory therapists, rehabilitation nurses, care managers, psychologists, dieticians and pastoral care providers.
Levels of care:
- Good Shepherd’s outpatient Muscular Dystrophy Clinic is available by appointment on Mondays in the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital-Allentown.
- Good Shepherd’s two long-term care inpatient facilities offer a caring environment to individuals with neuromuscular disease.
- Other inpatient and outpatient services may be appropriate for individuals with neuromuscular disease.
- Children with neuromuscular conditions can benefit from Good Shepherd's Outpatient Pediatrics Program and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Unit.
- Many of Good Shepherd’s wellness programs, including fitness opportunities, home modification and more, are appropriate for individuals with neuromuscular conditions.
Good Shepherd’s Muscular Dystrophy Clinic is the only one in the Lehigh Valley region and is supported, in part, by a generous grant from the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
