Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network recently named Laura M. Shaw-Porter of Elverson, Pennsylvania, as vice president, Human Resources.
In her new role, Shaw-Porter will provide strategic leadership for the human resources initiatives of Good Shepherd’s growing network. She will oversee multi-year human resources strategies and develop innovative programs to recruit highly skilled nurses, therapists and physicians. Shaw-Porter will oversee leadership training initiatives and help to develop quantitative performance targets for divisional leaders within Good Shepherd. She also will staff the Human Resources/Compensation Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Shaw-Porter has more than 20 years of progressive human resource leadership experience, 10 years of which was spent in the health-care industry, including Physiotherapy Associates headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, and NovaCare Outpatient Rehabilitation, headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, Human Resources at Philadelphia Insurance Companies of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, which has more than 2,000 employees throughout the country.
Shaw-Porter, who holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Temple University, is expected to receive her master’s degree in human resource development from Villanova University by the end of the year.
