Tibion Bionic Leg
Do you have weakness in one leg and have trouble walking?
Good Shepherd's therapists are experts in the use of the Tibion Bionic Leg, a rehabilitation technology that may help improve walking ability for patients with muscle weakness on one side of the body.
What is the Tibion Bionic Leg?
The Tibion is a computerized, bionic device that is strapped onto the leg. It provides assistance to a patient's impaired leg by assisting in relearning leg motion and improving the ability to place weight on the affected leg. It is a therapeutic intervention to help people walk better and faster and to improve balance.
Who is appropriate for the Tibion?
Any person with muscle weakness on one side who has trouble walking and/or difficulty with balance may benefit from the Tibion Bionic Leg. The muscle weakness may be from:
- Stroke [1]
- Orthopedic condition [2]
- Multiple Sclerosis [3]
- Arthritis [2]
Research shows that stroke survivors, even 10 years post stroke, can benefit from the use of the Tibion.
