B. Braun’s Chairman and CEO Caroll Neubauer and Wife Ellen To Lead Good Shepherd’s 2011 “Gala in the Garden” Committee10/14/2010
Allentown, PA – Inspired by their personal passion for helping children in need, coupled with the like-minded commitment of B. Braun to improve pediatric healthcare throughout its worldwide “B. Braun for Children Program,” Caroll H. Neubauer, B. Braun of America Chairman and CEO, and his wife, Ellen, will serve as Honorary Chairs for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network’s 2011 Gala in the Garden . The annual gala will benefit the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Unit .
“The Good Shepherd mission is perfectly aligned with that of B. Braun,” said Caroll Neubauer. “As a medical device company, we recognize the need for children to have specialized environments for care and therapy. On behalf of B. Braun, I am proud to support Good Shepherd and its Pediatrics Program.”
The Gala in the Garden  will be held May 21, 2011, at Good Shepherd’s south Allentown campus. Proceeds from the gala will help purchase state-of-the art equipment and meet other needs for the 16-bed Pediatric Unit  at 2855 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem, the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit in the greater Lehigh Valley.
“It is so important that we – as individuals and as corporate citizens – do everything we can to provide children with access to the specialized, quality healthcare they need and deserve,” said Ellen Neubauer. “It’s an honor to join with Good Shepherd and the Gala in the Garden  to help ensure a healthier, brighter future for children, and it’s even more meaningful that Carroll and I can be part of this special event together.”
As co-chairs, the Neubauers will serve as fund-raising leaders for the annual Gala in the Garden  event. Black-tie and sneakers have become the standard for this annual evening of dining and music.
“We love this Valley. It has become our home, and we are glad to support the outstanding work of Good Shepherd, which has improved the lives of people of all ages for more than 100 years,” said Caroll Neubauer.
About Caroll and Ellen Neubauer
Caroll Neubauer is Chairman and CEO of the Bethlehem-based B. Braun of America and B. Braun Medical, a leader in infusion therapy and pain management and a pioneer in passive safety devices and green PVC-free and DEHP-free products. A native of New Jersey, he began his career with B. Braun in 1988 at B. Braun Melsungen AG in Melsungen, Germany.
He is currently the Chairman of the German American Chamber of Commerce, New York, and is a member of the Board of Directors of AdvaMed (the industrial association of medical device manufactures in the U.S.). Additionally, Neubauer is a member of the President’s Advisory Group of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the German American Lawyers Association, the Georgetown University School of European Law Alumni and the Board of Directors for the Lehigh Valley Partnership.
Ellen Neubauer was born in Bonn, Germany, and attended the University of Tubingen and the University of Freiberg, where she studied biology, pharmaceuticals and chemistry, until she had to assume responsibility for the family business due to the early passing of her father. She has served as past president of the Leonard Pool Society, was a member of the “Cocktails and Collecting Committee” of the Allentown Art Museum and was a trustee on the board at Moravian Academy. She is also very involved in her husband’s professional life and frequently represents him at various functions when he is unable to attend.
