Aquatherapy
Aquatherapy utilizes a warm water pool for physical therapy treatment. Individual aquatherapy rehabilitation exercises are designed to improve flexibility, normalize movement, and promote function. This program also integrates physical therapy into the treatment plan in order to maximize patient benefit.
Dynamic Lumbar Stabilization
Good Shepherd's dynamic lumbar stabilization program is designed for patients suffering from lower back pain. This program is based on exercises designed to incorporate functional stabilization of the spine to emphasize movement re-education, improve physical capabilities, and decrease pain symptoms. Training focuses on flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
This program is designed to identify, evaluate, and treat patients with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This condition is characterized by brief periods of dizziness when an individual's head is moved into specific positions, usually when the ear is facing downward.
Healthy Back School
This one-hour informal program provides individuals and small groups with information about maintaining a healthy back. Content includes discussion of general anatomy, proper lifting techniques, and body mechanics as well as a demonstration of those techniques. Nutrition Program
This educational nutrition workshop is designed for people who want to learn more about weight management, gaining muscle, and improving eating habits.
Fitness Program
Supervised by state-licensed physicians, this post-discharge program is offered to patients who have recently completed a formal course of skilled therapy.
