Good Shepherd's Pain Rehabilitation Program is a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program designed for persons who have had ongoing pain for at least a three-month period. Program participants also suffer from severely decreased activity levels and have been unable to find a medical cure for their pain. By working with an interdisciplinary team to increase their activity and function, individuals undergoing pain rehabilitation develop the coping skills needed to resume vocational and/or avocational pursuits.
Pain Rehabilitation Program participants undergo evaluation by all team members prior to the establishment of their respective treatment plans. Treatment is then usually conducted three days a week for eight weeks. During the treatment day, persons served by the program are involved with a number of therapies and educational programs to develop physical mobility, strength, stamina, and valuable coping skills.
