Good Shepherd Names Anthony R. Bongiovanni Senior Vice President, Human Resources, and Corporate Performance Officer

Allentown—Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network recently welcomed Anthony R. Bongiovanni as its new senior vice president, Human Resources, and corporate performance officer.

In this role, Mr. Bongiovanni will provide strategic leadership for the human resources and corporate performance initiatives of Good Shepherd's growing network. He will oversee multi-year human resources strategies and develop innovative programs to recruit highly skilled nurses, therapists and physicians. Mr. Bongiovanni will oversee leadership training initiatives and help to develop quantitative performance targets for divisional leaders within Good Shepherd. He will also staff the Human Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees and will work to extend Good Shepherd's positive culture to Good Shepherd Penn Partners, a joint venture between Good Shepherd and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, which will open in Philadelphia in July of 2008.

Mr. Bongiovanni comes to Good Shepherd with extensive experience in human resources and as a health-care practice leader. He has more than 30 years of leadership experience with large health-care networks, including Carondelet Health Services, Inc., in Tucson, Arizona, Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia, Healthpartners in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Charon ECA in Phoenix, Arizona. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Human Resources, at St. Peter's Health Care Services in Albany, New York, where he oversaw human resources for a $400 million health-care system with more than 4,500 employees.

Mr. Bongiovanni, who holds a bachelor's degree in English/Communications from Penn State University and a master's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, is past president of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, which represents more than 3,100 (HR) professionals from throughout the country.

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, is a nationally recognized rehabilitation leader, offering a continuum of care for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and specializing in assistive and rehabilitation technology. More than 36,500 people come to Good Shepherd each year for specialized programs in stroke, orthopedics, brain injury, spinal cord injury, pediatrics, amputation and more.
