Good Shepherd to Host Free Stroke Risk Screening on May 29
The Event Is in Recognition of May as National Stroke Awareness Month

Allentown—Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network will conduct a free stroke risk screening from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 29, at the Good Shepherd Health & Technology Center, 850 South Fifth Street, Allentown. To schedule an appointment, call 610-776-3393.

The screenings will include a check of height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, cholesterol and carotid bruits (a check of blood flow through the carotid artery). There will also be a medical history evaluation, a personal stroke risk assessment and further stroke awareness education provided. It is recommended that participants fast for one hour prior to the blood sugar and cholesterol testing.

The event is sponsored by Heath Network Laboratories. Free, convenient parking is located in the Good Shepherd parking garage on South Fifth Street or by using the free valet service, available at the main entrance to the Good Shepherd Health & Technology Center.

Good Shepherd’s stroke rehabilitation program is the region’s only CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited stroke rehabilitation program. The program provides inpatient and outpatient services to stroke patients and their caregivers.
