Patrick J. Brennan, M.D., of the University of Pennsylvania Health System Elected to Good Shepherd Home Board

Allentown, PA—The Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America recently elected Patrick J. Brennan, M.D., to a three-year term on the Good Shepherd Home Board of Trustees. Good Shepherd is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Synod elects two-thirds of the trustees to the Good Shepherd Home Board.

Dr. Brennan is the chief medical officer and senior vice president of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and is a professor of medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brennan is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.

Dr. Brennan received a bachelor's degree from Allentown College (now DeSales University) and received a medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Temple University School of Medicine and a fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Dr. Brennan practiced medicine at Temple University Hospital. Awards he received include: the Temple University School of Medicine Alumni Achievement Award in 2007; the C.W. Hanson Medical Staff Service Award of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2006; and the "Outstanding Teacher Award" from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2001.

Dr. Brennan currently serves as a board member for the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and Wissahickon Hospice.
