Good Shepherd Celebrity Golf & Tennis Classic Held September 10 at Saucon Valley Country Club
Proceeds Benefit Good Shepherd’s Pediatric Center
Allentown—The 20th annual Good Shepherd Celebrity Golf & Tennis Classic was held Monday, September 10, at Saucon Valley Country Club (SVCC), 2050 Saucon Valley Road, Bethlehem.
The golf tournament paired a national or local celebrity with each foursome for the shotgun scramble. Celebrities who participated included: former Buffalo Bill Andre Reed; former Phillies Marty Bystrom, Robin Roberts and Bobby Schantz; former Phillies’ manager Nick Leyva; former NBA All-Star forward Jack Marin; former Chicago Bear Mike Hartenstine; former Philadelphia Eagle and Mike Mamula; and ABA and NBA basketball player Artis Gilmore.
The tennis tournament was led by professional tennis coach Ron Holmberg.
The Celebrity Classic is expected to raise more than $150,000 to benefit children who receive therapy at the Good Shepherd’s Pediatric Center, which serves more than 1,300 children a year. |
