Good Shepherd to Sponsor Injury ‘Rehab’ Apperances at Coca-Cola Park

Allentown—The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are proud to announce that Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network will be the exclusive sponsor of all Major League rehabilitation appearances at Coca-Cola Park. A rehabilitation appearance occurs when a player on a Major League roster comes off an injury and plays with a Minor League team to get back into playing shape.

“Certainly, we never want to see a player get hurt,” said IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. “But when players are coming back from injury, Minor League fans get really excited about the opportunity to see Major Leaguers play for the local team and at a much more intimate venue. We are certainly proud that Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network wanted to play a role in this excitement.”

As sponsor of the rehabilitation appearances at Coca-Cola Park, Good Shepherd will be included in the presentation of all rehabilitation player appearances, including promotion of the appearances and all associated events. Good Shepherd’s sponsorship also includes a game sponsorship in 2008 that will be part of Good Shepherd’s 100th anniversary celebration and prominent stadium signage. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As a nationally recognized leader in providing rehabilitation care, Good Shepherd feels that the opportunity to sponsor the Major League rehabilitation appearances is a natural tie-in for our organization, which offers physical rehabilitation including sports injury care.” said Patty Stinner, Director of Communications for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. “We redirected marketing dollars for this sponsorship, because we see great value in bringing information about our high-quality care to the family-oriented audiences that will come to Coca-Cola Park and catch the games on radio and television. With Good Shepherd’s 100th anniversary in 2008, we are happy to sponsor an IronPigs’ game that year as part of our anniversary celebration plan. The game sponsorship will allow Good Shepherd to share our centennial milestone with our employees and the IronPigs’ fans.”

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, based in Allentown, is a nationally recognized rehabilitation leader, offering a continuum of care for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and specializing in assistive and rehabilitation technology. More than 35,000 people come to Good Shepherd each year for specialized programs in stroke, orthopedics, brain injury, spinal cord injury, pediatrics, amputation and more. Good Shepherd provides rehabilitation services in seven eastern Pennsylvania counties.
