Good Shepherd Home Names New Board Chair and Trustees

Allentown—The Good Shepherd Home Board of Trustees, the governing board for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, recently appointed Richard E. Drobnicki of Allentown as chair.

In a planned transition, Drobnicki replaces Blake Marles, Esq., of Macungie as chair. Drobnicki is a self-employed certified public accountant who joined the Board in 2002. Marles, a shareholder of Stevens & Lee law firm, served as chair of the Board for six years and will continue to serve as a member of the Board during the last year of his term.

Other new board appointments include: Sandra Jarva Weiss, Esq., of Easton, and the Rev. Eric C. Shafer of Lansdale. Thomas Brislin, D.O., of Allentown, the president of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Medical Staff, also joined the Board.

Jarva Weiss is a health-care attorney with Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino of Allentown. She received her bachelor’s and law degrees from George Washington University. She serves as the First Lady of Lafayette College and director of the Council of Lafayette Women.

Rev. Shafer is senior pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church of Lansdale. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a master of divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. Rev. Shafer previously served as director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Department for Communication and an advisor to the Lutheran World Federation Council of Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Brislin is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. He earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Brislin has served as medical director of the Good Shepherd Home at the Conrad W. Raker Center since 2004.

Re-elected to the Good Shepherd Home Board of Trustees for another three-year term were: Glenn E. Fretz of Allentown, R. Stockton Taylor, Jr., of Bethlehem and Gary R. Schmidt of Orefield.

The officers of the Board are: Richard E. Drobnicki, chair; Sandra L. Bodnyk, vice chair; Joseph V. Topper, Jr., treasurer; and Glenn Fretz, secretary.

The Good Shepherd Home is the parent corporation with subsidiaries including: The Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, The Good Shepherd Home Long Term Care Facility, Inc., The Good Shepherd Workshop/Vocational Services, Inc., Good Shepherd Long Term Acute Care Services, Inc., and the Good Shepherd Housing Development Corporation.
