Good Shepherd Celebrity Classic Gala to Feature Roy Firestone's One-Man Show
Proceeds Benefit Good Shepherd’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Program
Allentown—The 19th annual Good Shepherd Celebrity Classic Gala will be held Sunday, September 10, and will include a performance by award-winning interviewer, stage performer and journalist Roy Firestone. The Gala will start at 6 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Day Inn Conference Center in Fogelsville. The Gala will include a silent auction, dinner and the performance “Roy Firestone…A One Man Show.”
Firestone is acclaimed for his work in broadcast journalism, having won seven Emmy Awards and two ACE Awards for Cable Excellence. He has interviewed more than 5,000 people, including nearly every major sports figure. Firestone also is a singer, impressionist and humorist who has performed in Las Vegas, at the Grand Olde Opry and at major sporting events, corporate meetings and conventions worldwide. He has shared the bill with stars as diverse as Frank Sinatra, Loretta Lynn, Michael McDonald, Gladys Knight and Frankie Valli. Firestone currently is the host of television’s Up Close and Personal and hosts AOL’s Time Out with Roy Firestone. He hosted ESPN’s Sports Look from 1980 to 1990. Firestone has appeared in numerous television shows, including Late Night with David Letterman, Larry King Live and Everybody Loves Raymond.
The Celebrity Classic Gala will benefit children receiving therapy at the Good Shepherd Pediatric Center. The cost of attending the Gala is $150 per person or $1,250 for a table of 10, and sponsorships are still available. A portion of the cost of each ticket is a contribution to Good Shepherd and is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
